Protesting Tar Sands Extraction — June 2011

How can you get involved? Here are a few ways:

Help with a neighborhood canvass

Reach out to community members to invite them to upcoming discussion nights and Bold Schools.

Help with phone banking

Invite PeaceUp supporters to upcoming events.

Organize a community discussion night

Help us plan and host a community discussion night at a local library, church, or school, or with another community organization.

Hold a tar sands house party

Host a film screening and discussion at your house, and get your friends and neighbors talking about tar sands!

Come to an upcoming community event!

Come get to know folks from our awesome community at an event like the Mexican Federation’s Open House on September 14!

Check out our calendar, or email Volunteers@PeacefulUprising.org to get started!

Volunteer Positions

Check out our OPEN volunteer positions to get more involved! Use your skills to help us defend a livable future and build the climate justice movement.

Not in Utah? We encourage you to explore climate justice issues affecting your area, and find out whether any grassroots climate justice groups already exist. Rising Tide chapters exist in many places around the country. If you don’t find a local group in your area, consider starting one!
