  • Although the Department of Oil, Gas and Mining has approved EER's permit to build the first commercial tar sands mine in the country, they still need to finalize environmental permits and raise money for construction. So, Peaceful Uprising is working to stop those permits and build public opposition to the mine to scare off investors. Join us for our first public campaign meeting on Tuesday, June 29th at 7:30 pm.

  • As part of the national Fossil Fools Day of Action, Peaceful Uprising will be coordinating a legal and peaceful event to target Kennecott Copper's coal-fired power plant--one of the larger point sources of air and climate pollution in the Salt Lake Valley. All who care about the air quality on the Wasatch Front are invited to come and show that we the people are willing to make strong demands to preserve our health from the foolish burning of fossil fuels.
